What is badminton?

Badminton,  is one of the sports played with a racket to hit a shuttlecock across a net.. There are two modes of competition (singles) one player per side, and (doubles) two players per side. The rules of the game are that the player who uses the racket to put the shuttlecock over the net and landing it within the opposing side's half of the court will score points. End of a round when shuttlecock touches the ground or there is an error caught by the referee or by the player himself.

Rackets are made of many materials that have changed over different periods, the shuttlecock made of feathers has a much greater speed when compared to other racquet sports. Players can play indoors or outdoors.

With a simple gameplay, badminton gradually becomes a subject that is loved by many people. To this day, badminton players are more and more crowded, with more investment in form, expertise and higher techniques that add to the excitement of this subject.

Since 1992, badminton has become an official sport in the Olympic Games with competition categories: men's and women's singles, men's and women's doubles, mixed doubles. The sport of badminton requires a good physical strength: athletes need flexibility, sensitivity, speed and high accuracy.
